Further down the path, and definitely down in temperature 🙂

Wow, it has been nearly three months since He brought us to China. Along the way, we have started new jobs, gotten our residence visas (Praise God!), purchased our household items / winter clothes, settled into a number of life rhythms, met many wonderful people and felt the stress of not knowing the language.

Samuel has gotten some wonderful help in Special Ed and is making significant progress. He is enjoying riding his bike and getting into some sports at school.

Meli has a growing caseload of counselees as an elementary counselor. It has been wonderful to watch her grow and really enjoy the job that God has given her to do.

At Tianjin International School, I have begun helping a number of kids begin to understand some of the mysteries of the Gospel and to learn how to think in light of the issues facing the world today. Additionally, God has given me the astounding opportunity to openly preach about the Love of Jesus in a couple of other international forums. And finally, our worldwide blog, is growing and getting ready for a major upgrade due to the kind help of a web expert.  Visit us at http://blog.ps1611.org

Did I mention winter clothes? Wow!!! What a difference in temps. We have spent years near the equator and are really working to adjust to the coming winter. It snowed very lightly last night, and the temp is near 0 celsius. While we do not yet have the heat turned on in our apartment, we have been using fans and boiling water and the “space heater” function on some small air conditioner units. Still, we look forward to the kindness of our host government in providing heat for our apartment complex!  Enjoy a few pictures of our life in Tianjin!

We continue to be amazed at all the things before us. There are myriad opportunities to share knowledge of the good news, and to provide a robust education to international students. Would you pray for us as we continue to trust God for financial provision, language studies, and navigation of culture stress?

Also, let us know how you are doing. We would love to pray for you!

Grace and Peace to you all,
Mak, Meli and Samuel
