It’s Too Much: The Impossible Life He Has Given Us

ImpossibleThe wonderful thing about praying is that you leave a world of not being able to do something, and enter God’s realm where everything is possible. He specializes in the impossible. Nothing is too great for His almighty power. Nothing is too small for His love.
~Corrie ten Boom

For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from Whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of His glory HE may grant you to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
~ paul, The Least of The Apostles, in Ephesians 3

Oh beloved, it is true.

Life is hard. And quite often, life is impossible. Sometimes, it is so hard that we don’t even know what is about to hit us.

Make that possible for me which is impossible by nature.
~Thomas à Kempis (c. 1380-1471)

This fool of a writer is going into a (hopefully) short season, where there will be more to do than i know how to do, or to even have time to get it done. The courses i thought i left behind in the last school year are now unmanned due to an immigration issue. And the very challenging job that was tailor-made for me to do in professional development, accreditation, curriculum, and Safety & Security, is a job that still needs to be done.

Regardless, what hits me is that i am both blissful and overwhelmed at the same time.

And this is very good news.

Can we see it?

There is a moment in our lives where we begin to grow up and realize that life is utterly impossible. The demands of holiness
The freedom to fail
The crushing responsibilies
The absolute inability for us to succeed on our own…

But, once we do realize all of this, we really do find that something really has changed. We have broken through into the reality of the Kingdom: Zero multiplies by ten. Weakness is strength. His Grace is sufficient and suffering leads to joy. And, in Him, we are more than conquerors.

So, are you struggling to get through some tough times? Perhaps tonight is your night to realize that life is not difficult. It is impossible, apart from Him and His Grace.

Life is very simple: it merely consists in learning how to accept the impossible, how to do without the indispensable, how to endure the insupportable.
~Kathleen Norris (b. 1880)
