Beyond Our Wildest Dreams

God is the light in my darkness, the voice in my silence.
~Helen Adams Keller (1880-1968)

God is the great reality. His resources are available and endless. His promises are real and glorious, beyond our wildest dreams.
~J. B. Phillips (1906-1982)

For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of His glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
~ Ephesians 3:14-21

One of my favorite things about reading the Bible is when the one of the writers starts to talk directly about G_d.  It is like someOne just pulls the lid off the inkwell – and they just start running out of ink and paper talking about how wonderful He is.

Well, yeah… BECAUSE HE IS!

He is the very definition of beauty.  Everything that He is pervades out through this universe in the form of symmetry, righteousness, justice, goodness, virtue, honor, truth and nobility.

And by simply surrendering to the Truth of Him and His work…

He fills us with Himself.

Do you dream big beloved?  No matter… He goes beyond anything we can even dream or imagine.  And beyond the limits of our brains and dreams, He meets us in our spirit – and shows us the deep things of Himself.

And He saturates us with His Grace.

Has He brought you up out of a miry pit?  All glory to G_d for the impossible gift of His salvation.  And, oh by the way, being saved from hell was just the beginning.  He is now saving you from sin and self – and will soon save you into a Kingdom in a new creation that will never end.  Eternity upon eternity will roll out under the thrones we occupy in communion with and service to Him.  Ever upon ever will not be the merest glimpse of a moment in comparison to the need of time to get to know Him and the full unfolding of His Love and Glory and plans to manifest the same.

And He brings profound peace to our existence.

He shows us that His ways not only win, they work everywhere and in every way.  We come to realize that there is simply nothing to worry about.  All is well – no matter the circumstance – in His Presence.

And then we get to watch Him do the same thing in others.

Ever seen that person in your community?  Sure seems like G_d has big plans for that one. We even dream big dreams for those who seem like they are actually engaging the big portion of faith that G_d has given them.  Dream bigger friends.  We simply cannot dream big enough.

Because only G_d can count the fruit in a single seed.

God passes through the thicket of the world, and wherever his glance falls he turns all things to beauty.
~Saint John of the Cross (1542-1591)
