Hold On

The only cure for suffering is to face it head on, grasp it round the neck and use it.
~Brennan Manning

Therefore, holy brothers, you who share in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, who was faithful to Him who appointed Him, just as Moses also was faithful in all God’s house. For Jesus has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses—as much more glory as the builder of a house has more honor than the house itself. (For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.) Now Moses was faithful in all God’s house as a servant, to testify to the things that were to be spoken later, but Christ is faithful over God’s house as a Son. And we are His house if indeed we hold fast our confidence and our boasting in our hope.
~ The Encourager, in Hebrews 3

Oh beloved, it is true. All things pass. They may pass with great difficulty, but they will pass.

Fear
Doubt
Anger
Conflict
Relational difficulties
Disease
Elections
Wars
Pestilence
All of it will come to end. Just hold on.

Read the passage. Read it carefully. You beloved (and this fool of a writer) are part of an eternal House. No, not just a building – though it is indeed a home for us. Yes, we are now attached to the very House of G_d.

So, what does this mean?  Everything.

Fear becomes replaced by Faith in Who He Was, Is, and Will Be.
Doubt is replaced by Confidence in our new identity in Him.
Anger is replaced by a deep joy at our new standing as a son or daughter of the King.
Conflict is replaced by conviction that everything is already alright.
Relational difficulties are healed by the One Who Is our Peace.
Disease is replaced by easing back in the arms of The One Who is Healer.
Elections of tinpot politicians are replaced by our co-regency with The King of The Universe.
Wars are replaced with victory in Jesus.
Pestilence is replaced with abundance of Life in Him.

Can we see it? The only opportunity the liar has is to keep lying to us. He is trying to get us to think things will never get better. But the greatest lie is being foisted upon us. We are already in the family of G_d. The circumstances are already resolving. And anything wanting will be resolved in a few short breaths of this short life.

Then eternity in a Kingdom which will have no end.

This is very good news!

So, are you fighting the battles of life? Perhaps it would be helpful for you to understand something that has already happened. You, believer, are already part of the family of G_d. Jesus is your Brother. You are a freeman of the Kingdom of Heaven.

Tonight is your night to just hold on for a few moments. We are almost Home.

A great faith is like the anchor or cable of a ship that holds it steady in the midst of storms. A Christian who is steeled with this heroic faith is settled in the mysteries of religion. The Spirit of God has so firmly printed heavenly truths upon his heart that you may we well remove the sun out of the firmament as remove him from those holy principles he has absorbed. Behold here, a pillar in the temple of God (Rev. 3:12).
