Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, His body, and is himself its Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands… Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her, that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that He might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church, because we are members of his body. “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church.

Oh beloved, it is true. Each of us have an impossible job to do. And apart from Him, we can do nothing. But, it goes even deeper than this for some. Some of us are given jobs so big that we cannot do them as a single person, even as fully surrendered believers.
We are given teams of people to work with. We have organizations that He is building across the planet. The church is pushing back the very gates of hell. And still, for some of us, the need is great. We burn for something more, and we know without it, we could not possibly face the path He has set before us… The problems are just too big for a single human being.
It will take a double-phased homo novus (new creation) to even begin to get it done. And this will only begin to have an effect if that union is in communion with the Spirit that brought them together. Said simply, many will need a spouse.
However, with this conundrum comes a solution that will never fail. Ovid spoke of it, and His Word is drenched in the reality too. Two, in the power of His Spirit are an incredibly powerful weapon for good. They, when one with Him, become a

triple-fronted
triple-thinking
triple-threat to the evil one.
This fool of a writer has spent a few years out towards the tip of the sword. And thankfully, he has been given a partner of incredible inner beauty to go through the situations G_d has been setting up for æons. We have already been the first-row witnesses to a number of real miracles. We have seen healings, and deliverances. We have been partners in harvesting fruit we never thought we would see.
Can we see it? We have witnessed His very hand move things that would have been totally impossible in the natural. But, what is more true than watching the phenomena of His infinite goodness, is that we realize that He has made it such that we literally could not have gotten through some of these situations without each other.
Of course G_d could have done it another way. But, His ways are amazing. And they show us so much about the heart of the Trinity, and the truth that relationship is the final stuff of reality.
So, are you thinking your spouse is maybe getting in the way of the things He would have you do? Oh surely, to please both a wife and one’s G_d is an impossible challenge. However, have you yet come to realize an even deeper truth? Your wife is not the impediment to your goals in the Spirit. She is the secret ingredient.
