The people who walked in darkness
have seen a great light;
those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness,
on them has light shone.
You have multiplied the nation;
you have increased its joy;
they rejoice before you
as with joy at the harvest,
as they are glad when they divide the spoil.
For the yoke of his burden,
and the staff for his shoulder,
the rod of his oppressor,
you have broken as on the day of Midian.
For every boot of the tramping warrior in battle tumult
and every garment rolled in blood
will be burned as fuel for the fire.

to us a son is given;

Unstoppable. Nothing has been able to stop it from the moment it started. The King of The Universe came and began His Kingdom, and nothing will ever, EVER bring it to an end. And the way He entered this sphere is the perfect picture of how powerful He was, is, and is to come.
Notice that Jesus did enter the world as a baby.
Defenseless
Disabled
Weak
Tiny
Breakable
Overlooked.
Actually, this was a taunt. All the powers of darkness knew exactly what was going on. They wanted the opportunity to end the Trinity, and surely sensed that this was a potential moment to do this. And our Jesus came anyway.
The forces of human evil, too were not too happy to have Him arrive on the scene. Death squads were sent out to do a little genocidal cleanup in the neighborhood of Bethlehem, but they were not able to catch the little one.
Too, through His life here on earth, there were multiple attempts on His Life, and none of them even came close to having any sort of effect. Even when He was apprehended in the Garden of Gethsemane, He only spoke His Name and this dropped a large cadre of trained soldiers and a bunch of other brutes to the ground.
Even when both the Israeli and Roman governments tried to try Him, they could not even get a conviction without totally twisting justice. Jesus was in total control all the way through and drove them to kill Him. He was no victim. He was in charge. Completely.
Can we see it? G_d is showing us something. The utterly weakest moments of Jesus, are exceedingly and abundantly more powerful than the most potent forces of the earth. Jesus as a babe in a manger was a more formidable force than the largest stable of thermonuclear weapons on the planet.
Don’t miss this beloved. G_d does everything for a reason. And He is showing us something else here too. You believer, have this same fullness of G_d dwelling within you through His very Spirit. You too are utterly, completely unstoppable in Him.
So, does the Babe in a manger seem just like a sweet story to you? It is gorgeously beautiful, but it is much more than sweet. This story is meat for the bones and muscle. Tonight is your night beloved. Time to see the power of G_d.
