An Extravagant Paradigm

We can now hear the voice of the One who tore His very Triune Self apart that we might have ears to hear. And this same One has knit us to His very heart with the Love and Blood of His Son.

What Love is this?!  Who am i? Why!? It tears me asunder, and leaves me heaving sobs in His beautiful arms. And in all of this, i can but hear Him speak, “Oh how I Love thee, my child.”
~ Makala Barnabas Doulos

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all, how will He not also with Him graciously give us all things? Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
~ from Romans 8

Oh beloved, what if it is true? What if He Loves us? What does it mean? Wouldn’t it be that…

The very thing that holds the Trinity in unity is reaching out to us?

The only force that could set us free from sin has been unleashed on us?

The center of the great heart of G_d has us in it?

The Soul of the Maker of our souls yearns for us?

The fear that we are utterly alone, is utterly false?

The extravagant wish we shy away from, is actually a picture in our mind that falls completely short of His extravagant Love towards us?

What if its true?  This fool of a writer believes it is.  Do you?

Tonight is your night beloved. Time to believe.

How deep the Father’s love for us,
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure
How great the pain of searing loss,
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the chosen One,
Bring many sons to glory
Behold the Man upon a cross,
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed I hear my mocking voice,
Call out among the scoffers
It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished
I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection
Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom.
