In Christ we have a love that can never be fathomed, a life that can never die, a peace that can never be understood, a rest that can never be disturbed, a joy that can never be diminished, a hope that can never be disappointed, a glory that can never be clouded, a light that can never be darkened, and a spiritual resource that can never be exhausted.

This writer is one of those crazy fools who is persuaded that the entire Bible is entirely the Word of the Living God. Some may scoff, and that is OK. For my faith is entirely beyond reason. Rather my faith in the One who wrote the book has become the reason for my being. God crashed me out of my intellectual grasp (i had one. i have a degree in the Bible and have spent many years studying and teaching it) of Scripture on my birthday a couple years ago. It was on that day in Romans 8 that i became persuaded that it was not just His Word, but it was Him in and through His entire Word Who was able to abundantly save me from my very real problems at the time (and now – and forever).
So, for you beloved who still have a hard time believing it all. That is OK for the moment. Keep seeking Him with everything… you do not have to have all the answers to find Him. Just seek Him fully – and you will most surely find Him.
This entry’s audience is really those who claim to believe that the Word of God is exactly that. It is, perhaps, a challenge for those in that audience to examine whether they really are believing, or just saying.
i have spent a fair amount of time with a fair amount of people (including myself in the past) who utilized simply incomprehensible speech – while still touting that the Bible is completely true.
We say things like:
> I am worried
> I am scared
> I am anxious
> That was unfair (and I deserve justice)
> I am tired
> I am sick
> I am depressed
> I am unable
> I am frustrated
> I am being cheated (and deserve repayment)
> I can’t forgive
> That’s impossible
Really?
Oh, come on, we have all done it. We have done it, and couched it in terms of “balance,” or something other. But aren’t we really just rather hedging our bets against whether the whole thing is really true or not?
Really, the question is abundantly simple. Will we obey in just one area? Will we believe?
Because if we will, we will see that speech like that above is not even close to anything that belongs in the vocabulary of a believer walking in the Spirit of the Living God. The following list is long, but it is not comprehensive of who should comprehend ourselves to be in Him.
Might we have the decency to at least be intrigued?
