At length, on evening, while engaged in a prayer-meeting, the great deliverance came. I received the full witness of the Spirit that the blood of Jesus had cleansed me from all sin. I felt I was nothing, and Christ was all in all. Him I now cheerfully received in all His offices: my Prophet, to teach me; my Priest, to atone for me; my King, to reign over me. Oh what boundless, boundless happiness there is in Christ, and all for such a poor sinner as I am! This happy change took place in my soul March 13th, 1772.

Not just a part of our life. But our Life alone. Oh beloved, we are redeemed by the precious blood of The Lamb. That does not mean that we are simply saved from the penalty and payment for our sins. We are purchased.
Do not even ever get this twisted. We do not choose Him like He is some choice to be made. We – by His grace – yield to the truth that there is no real life apart from Him.
All our previous existence can go. This is no sacrifice… This is very Good News! i mean, really, is there anything that we really anything of the old life on which we want to maintain a grip? If the answer is, yes. It is time for a gut-check. Let me defer to an expert here.
Can we not see the wreckage and death our carnal minds brought forth before He brought us out of darkness into His light? And even as we are tempted to live a little bit of our own lives on our own, can we not feel and taste the acrid metallic edge our lives once had?
Oh yeah, the evil one packages that death in facades approximating the curve and taste and beauty of His love towards us. And while we mostly see these things for what they are, the volume of the assault in this world is troublesome. We can hardly get through a few minutes without some plastic, synthetic replica for happiness and comfort screaming for our attention.
This is why He has to be our Life alone. Not 100% of OUR life, but HIS life – lived fully in and through the “us” that absolutely surrenders to Him.
