The Gospel Is Binary

The Gospel is binary. It either works in our lives, or it doesn’t.
~ an old saint at a men’s local Bible study

For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
~ Ephesians 3:14-21

Are we catching this beloved?  Look at what He is telling us throughout His Word.  The message of the Gospel is an infinite proposition.  It is an all-or-nothing model.  Here is your challenge for the week.  Try to disprove any of the statements below with Scripture.  And write me back.  Go ahead.  Be a Berean (Acts 17:11)!    Oh, by the way, this list just scratches the surface of this binary-ness of the Bible.
  • There are no limits for those who are in Christ.
  • There is no hope for those who do not believe in Christ.
  • Nothing can separate us from His love.
  • He heals all our diseases.
  • He gives us everything we need.
  • His peace is beyond understanding.
  • His joy is exceedingly full.
  • He forgives all our sins.
  • His mercies are new every morning.
  • In our spirit, we know the deep things of an infinite G_d.
  • He never fails.  Not ever.
  • He never changes.  Not even ever, forever.
  • He will always be found by whoever earnestly seek Him.
  • Anything we ever do for G_d on our own will be rejected.
  • Anything we do in obedience to His spirit will be rewarded.
  • A true believer is only free to do anything they choose.
  • The only reasonable choice for a believer is to be a complete slave to G_d.
  • Jesus will never lose a saint from His grasp.
  • The Bible is all about Jesus.
Dig in friends.  Time for a feast!

The shifting systems of false religion are continually changing their places; but the gospel of Christ is the same forever. While other false lights are extinguished, this true light ever shines.
~Theodore Ledyard Cuyler (1822-1909)
