Oh my… So, one Saturday God pulled back the curtain just a little more on the window to my future…
And through that widening crack I see blue oceans, green foliage, torn down houses, and dirt roads. There are beautiful hungry children and many of the other true rock-stars in the kingdom of God; I hear their delightful patois… and have begun to wonder how a guy from Phoenix ever got involved in building houses and playing with orphans in Jamaica. Oh wow, the plans He has for us and His glory! When we wait and listen, He’ll show and tell us the craziest things. His economy is so different from ours. And He has told me to go. So, this trip is a first step into full-time ministry to the poor.
Beloved, surely God could use anyone/anything other than me – even rocks!
So, the main word that comes to mind here? Privilege.
November 4th – 12th, in Jamaica, a team of 20 will have a chance to build homes, feed the hungry, comfort orphans, share strength with the disabled, visit those who’ve been abandoned, and be the Love of Jesus amongst them all. Together, we can be His hands, feet and eyes in tangible ways.
Will you share in this opportunity?
The primary needs here are not physical. This is not lip-service to the spiritual aspect of this trip. We need prayer. We need clarity of purpose. We need conviction that this is not about us, but rather it is God working His strength and plans in us and through us. And as you pray, please listen. If He leads you, please give towards the $2,200 needed immediately for this trip.
His,
Scot
